Tender Oven-Baked Ribs
🧾 Ingredients:
- 1–2 racks beef or lamb ribs
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Dry rub:
- 1 tbsp paprika (smoked if possible)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- ½ tsp chili powder or cayenne (optional)
For finishing:
- ½–1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite)
👩🍳 Instructions:
- Preheat oven
Set to 150°C (300°F). - Prep the ribs
Remove the thin membrane from the back (this helps tenderness).
Pat dry, rub with olive oil, then coat evenly with the spice mix. - Wrap & bake low and slow
Place ribs on a foil-lined tray, cover tightly with foil, and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours until very tender. - Add BBQ glaze
Remove foil, brush generously with BBQ sauce. - Caramelize
Increase oven to 220°C (425°F) and bake uncovered for 10–15 minutes, or broil for a few minutes until sticky and slightly charred. - Rest & serve
Let rest 5–10 minutes before slicing.
💡 Tips:
- The lower and slower you cook, the more tender they’ll be.
- Add a splash of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice before wrapping for extra depth.
- You can finish on a grill instead of the oven for smoky flavor.
