Cheesy Potato Rolls are mashed potato-based rolls stuffed with cheese, often coated and cooked for a crispy exterior and stretchy, melted center.
🧾 Ingredients
🥔 Potato dough
- 3–4 medium potatoes (boiled & mashed)
- 2–3 tbsp cornflour or breadcrumbs (for binding)
- Salt & pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
🧀 Cheese filling
- 1 cup mozzarella or cheddar (shredded)
- Optional: chili flakes, herbs
🧆 Coating
- 1 egg (beaten)
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- Oil for frying or air frying spray
👨🍳 Instructions
1. Make potato dough
- Mash boiled potatoes until smooth
- Mix in salt, pepper, and cornflour
- Form a soft, non-sticky dough
2. Shape and fill
- Take small portion of potato dough
- Flatten in your palm
- Add cheese in center
- Roll and seal into a log or ball shape
3. Coat
- Dip in egg
- Roll in breadcrumbs for crunch
4. Cook
Frying method:
- Deep or shallow fry until golden brown (3–4 min per side)
Air fryer method:
- Spray lightly with oil
- Cook at 180°C (356°F) for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway
