🐟🥪 Fried Fish Sandwich

- 2–4 white fish fillets (cod, tilapia, haddock, or pollock)
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp garlic powder
🧂 Breading
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cornmeal or breadcrumbs (for extra crunch)
- 1 tsp baking powder (optional, lighter crust)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper
🥚 Wet mix
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup milk or buttermilk
🍔 Sandwich
- 2–4 burger buns (brioche or soft rolls work best)
- Lettuce, shredded
- Tomato slices
- Pickles
🥣 Sauce (tartar-style)
- ½ cup mayo
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp chopped pickles or relish
- 1 tsp mustard (optional)
- Salt & pepper, to taste
👨🍳 Instructions
1. Prep fish
- Pat fish dry
- Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder
2. Set up breading station
- Bowl 1: flour mixture
- Bowl 2: eggs + milk whisked
- Bowl 3: cornmeal/breadcrumb mix
3. Coat fish
- Dredge fish in flour
- Dip in egg mixture
- Coat in cornmeal/breadcrumb mix
4. Fry
- Heat oil in a pan to medium-high (about 175–180°C / 350°F)
- Fry fish 3–5 minutes per side until golden and crispy
- Drain on paper towels
5. Make sauce
- Mix mayo, lemon juice, pickles, mustard, salt, and pepper
6. Assemble sandwich
- Toast buns lightly
- Spread sauce on both sides
- Add lettuce, fried fish, tomato, and pickles
- Top and serve immediately
